BEACH: LAHAINA

Lahaina Beach is a huge beach that surround all the nice hotels.
Is it worth the drive? YES
why? because lahaina gives you a guarentee tan and it's another world down there.

It's mostly known as Black rock because there's a black rock you jump off into the water. (personally I don't think it's all that fun, but mainly because I'm scared shitless)
Black rock is a very calm beach so it's always full of tourists and locals. I don't hate or love it, just a nice place to go.

FLATBREAD PIZZA

Flatbread Pizza & co is located in Paia Town, near the gas station

This place is not only a really really delicious producer of pizza but they're all about the community. They buy from local farmers and hold benefit nights almost if not every tuesday.

This is what you get:
MOPSY'S
Kalua Pork, bbq sauce, pineapples, red onions, and goat cheese.

BEACH: BIG BEACH

Ever since I can remember, Big beach has been our family's choice of beach. My older brother took me and siblings there when we couldn't swim and we still go there when we're all on maui. Bigs is the type of beach where you spend all day and come home completely drained with an awesome tan.

FACTS ABOUT BIG BEACH
Also known as Makena
really big waves
LOTS of nutz spongas
LOTS of tourist getting pounded by huge waves
second entrance is always the best
note that you'll probably find sand on your body for days

but
BEWARE of the Makena cloud that causes gloomy beach days

LALA

OLINDA FOREST

OLINDA FOREST PICNIC
(one of those gloomy picnics)

I don't think there's much to do upcountry that doesn't involve nature or food for fun. This is the perfect proof. Here we are having a picnic (food) up at Olinda forest (nature.

Most people enjoy picnics in the sun wearing cute summer clothes, but here we are in the dark wearing jeans, sweaters, and boots. Olinda forest is a calm place to breath & think and take photos.

KULA LODGE

Kula Lodge has quite the reputation of being good and expensive, but personally one of those statements are true.

FALSE: GOOD
TRUTH: EXPENSIVE

I don't want to hate on Kula Lodge but if my dad is spending a lot of money to feed my hunger, I would to hope whatever I'm eating falls nothing short of amazing. We ordered two pizzas and two hamburgers and we all shared. It wasn't disgusting, but for the price I expected MORE.

The pizzas:
The first pizza was alright, it had a lot of toppings. Maybe a little too much. And the crust was fluffy and yummy, but the rest of it was so thin. I couldn't eat it in the normal pizza eating stance, I had to fold it over.
The second pizza (Chicken, goat cheese, and pesto. Pictured above) was very dry. I was the only one who had a slice.

Hamburgers:
Everything just tasted burnt and difficult to eat.

Will I eat here again? NOT IF I'M PAYING

LOCAL MARKET

THE LOCAL MARKET IN MAKAWAO TOWN
(across from the jewelry shop/rodeo general store)

Although the local market is a great thing for the community, I hate that there's no parking due to it. But like I said, it's a real great thing to sell and buy from local farmers. This market is not too big, too be honest it's kind of small. You can find flowers, veggies, fruit, homemade soap and sauces, & handmade jewelry and accessories.

Let meh tell ya, the papaya from these markets are the BEST.
